That’s All Folks

Writing one last blog post to finish out this semester of performance and society is bittersweet. This week something I would like to highlight is writing my final process letter for this course. This letter allowed me to reflect not only on the things that I have learned from the class but also on the chance to fight for the grade I feel I deserve. As someone who has always been school-oriented and very serious about my academic progress, writing this letter was extremely validating in proving to myself that I am achieving academic goals and earning the grades that come with those. For example, instead of writing a paper the night before it is due and saving all the stress for a 4-hour speed writing session, I spent 2 weeks slowly working on each area of the paper to ensure the work I was turning it was of high quality. This also was true in several other classes, but this course being one of the most scholarly this semester made earning an A so much harder and makes me feel much more accomplished. I could have written so many more things to debate my progress, but I believed that my portfolio of coursework should speak for itself. All in all, I really enjoyed and thought hard about the final process letter making it the most prominent and worth while thing from my final week in FYS 183 to reflect upon.
